Description
The former conduit, now a refreshment kiosk, is located at the south-west corner of the garden to Number 15 in Lichfield. Built in 1803, it features brick construction topped with a pyramidal slate roof. The structure is octagonal, with a lower extension that meets the corner of the garden wall, which has a canted angle. It has a round-headed entrance with a 20th-century glazed door at the angle, and likely features an early 20th-century canted timber oriel with leaded glazing at the front. The octagonal part includes one window with a pegged casement and a perforated metal finial. This conduit was originally established around 1140 in the north-west corner of the close and was replaced by the current structure in 1803. It remained in use until 1969 and was converted into a kiosk in the late 1980s.
