Description

This house dates from around 1800. It is built of stucco with ashlar stone detailing, topped by a tile roof and brick chimney stacks. The design is in the Georgian style, with a double-depth layout and a central staircase. The symmetrical front elevation has three windows on each floor, with a decorative cornice at the top. The front entrance is marked by panelled pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice, above which is a wrought-iron balcony. An iron railing lines the steps. The ground floor windows have sills and 16-pane sashes, while the first floor windows have 12-pane sashes. There are three gabled dormers in the attic, each with plain bargeboards and small-paned, horizontally sliding windows. Brick walls enclose the front and side garden, incorporating an opening for a path, and decorative wrought-iron railings run along the front and left side of the property. Inside, there is an open-well staircase with turned balusters.
