Description
Clematis Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame with render and has a thatched roof with a scalloped ridge. The cottage has a plastered ridge stack and an integral end stack. It consists of three framed bays, aligned east-west and facing south, and is one storey with an attic. The irregular framing is partly obscured by plasterwork but includes some roughly square panels. There are two 20th-century ground floor windows and three eyebrow dormers, along with a central glazed door. The left (west) gable roof truss has two collars with queen struts above the lower collar and V-struts above the upper collar, as well as a central vertical strut above the tie beam. The right (east) gable roof truss has one collar, one pair of purlins, and a ridge piece.
