Description

House, now divided. It is a 17th-century timber-framed building with a thatched roof featuring a patterned ridge and brick stacks. Originally L-shaped, it comprises a single-bay hall range aligned east-west, facing north, and a two-bay crosswing aligned north-south, extended by a single bay to the south in the early to mid-19th century.

The north elevation displays the hall range to the left with three square panels to the eaves containing straight bracing. To the right is a projecting gabled crosswing with two tall rectangular panels to the eaves featuring herringbone bracing to the first floor and gable. The roof has a collar and tie beam truss supporting a single pair of purlins and a ridge piece. The fenestration is irregular, with casements. A lean-to porch is located to the left with a door at the left-hand end. The left-hand (east) gable end roof truss has V-struts above the collar, a single pair of purlins, and a ridge piece.

The west elevation shows the 17th-century wing to the left and a 19th-century extension to the right. The 17th-century wing's left bay has closely spaced studs with a middle rail, and blocked 17th-century windows to the left of centre and right. The adjacent bay has three roughly square panels to the eaves, irregular fenestration, and a door to the left. The 19th-century extension is two storeys high with a slate roof. It features casements with segmental heads to the right and a door with a segmental head to the left. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. A 19th-century extension has been remodelled in the 20th century and is two storeys high with a thatched roof, square-headed casements with glazing bars, glazed doors, and eyebrow dormers.
