Description

The conduit head, dated 1811 (possibly 1814, as the inscription is obscured), is made of stone and features a rectangular plan. It has Doric corner-piers, an entablature, and a pediment above a pitched stone roof. The entrance is a round arch, which is also repeated as a blind arch on the rear. The rear arch is inscribed with "D. HANDS" along with the date in the archivolt. This structure is located to the west of Aldershaw Hall.
