Description

This is a milepost located on the west side of Ashbourne Road in Rocester, dating from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular section with a chamfered top. The top face is marked with the name "ROCESTER." The left side displays the distances to Ellastone (2¼ miles) and Ashbourne (7¼ miles), while the right side indicates the distances to Rocester (½ mile) and Uttoxeter (5 miles).
