Description
Churnet Bridge and the causeway to the west are a hump-back bridge built in the early 19th century. The structure is made of coursed, squared, and dressed large stone blocks. It features three semi-circular arches that span the River Churnet, with the central arch being the largest. There is a parapet band that leads to a plain parapet, which rises to a point above the central arch and continues for approximately 35 yards to the west, where a small segmental arch crosses a small stream.
