Description

Dove Lane Farm Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on the west side of Dove Lane in the civil parish of Rochester. The cottage is timber framed with painted brick infill, and has painted brick gables, topped by a clay tile roof. A brick ridge stack is centrally positioned on the south side of the building. The layout is of a three-room lobby-entry plan.

The west elevation features a single storey with an attic. There are two square panels to the wall plate, with short straight upper braces. The windows are irregularly placed and are mostly 20th-century casements, with two windows to the left, a "pseudo-firewindow" to the left of the centre, and a further casement to the right. A board door is positioned to the left of the centre, and gabled dormers are located to the left and centre. The east elevation contains 20th-century casements to the right and centre, with a door positioned to the right of the centre.

Internally, doors on the east and west sides open into lobbies located to either side of a false inglenook fireplace on the south side of the north room. There is an inglenook fireplace to the south side of the central room, and a Victorian cast iron fireplace on the north side of the south room.
