Description
Barrowhill is a house built in the late 18th century, with later alterations. It features a painted pebbledash exterior. The south elevation consists of a two-storey main house with a layout of two, three, and two bays, including a central semi-octagonal projection. On either side of the main house are single-storey wings, each with two bays and a semi-octagonal east end. The main house has glazing bar sash windows, casements in the two left-hand ground floor bays, and French casements in the two right-hand ground floor bays. It has a plain parapet, with urn finials at both ends and each angle of the central projection. The flanking bays also have glazing bar sashes and moulded parapet strings above a plain parapet.
On the west elevation, there is a single-storey, three-bay canted projection to the left, featuring glazing bar sashes and a moulded parapet string above a plain parapet. To the right, there is a two-storey, two-bay set-back wing with glazing bar sashes, a 20th-century glazed door to the right, and a 20th-century glazed porch to the left, also with a plain parapet. The central entrance features a semi-circular Doric porch leading to a panelled door, which has a rectangular overlight and flanking glass panels.
