Description
The White Hall is a late 18th-century house. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble with sandstone dressings and a roof of slate and stone slate. The north-west facade presents a symmetrical composition of three storeys and three bays. The outer bays feature tripartite sash windows with glazing bars, the lights divided by wooden sash boxes, all within plain stone surrounds. A large stair window rises through the first and second floors in the centre; the right-hand half has glazing bars, while the left-hand side is blank with painted glazing bars. This window has a plain stone surround with an ogee head, stepped keystone, and impost blocks, divided by a mullion and a transom. The front door has a stone surround with a semi-circular head that rises under an open pediment supported on attached Tuscan columns. A lower two-bay wing adjoins the main house to the left; the left-hand bay has windows similar to those of the main house, and the right-hand bay has windows with plain stone surrounds, the first-floor window featuring a central square mullion. The south-east facade of the main house, of two bays, has tripartite windows similar to those at the front, and a central gabled stone porch. The gables have chimneys and copings.
