Description
Swindlehurst Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some remains from the 17th century. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble with sandstone dressings and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays. The right side of the facade includes two ground-floor windows, each with three lights, architraves, and square mullions. Above these are two windows with plain stone surrounds. Between the ground-floor windows is a door, also with a plain stone surround. At the left end of the facade, there is a six-light mullioned window with a king mullion, featuring an inner hollow chamfer and an outer chamfer; one of the lights has diamond-leaded panes. On the first floor, there is a window with a plain stone surround, and to the right, there is another door with a plain stone surround. The building has a plain stone gutter and chimney stacks on the gables and to the right of the left-hand bay, with the left-hand gable stack projecting. The interior has little of interest visible, apart from some cyma-stopped common joists in the room accessed from the left-hand door.
