Description
Fields Farmhouse is a house dating from 1759. It is constructed of squared watershot sandstone with a slate roof. The design is double-pile, with end stacks. The symmetrical facade is two storeys high and two bays wide, featuring chamfered quoins. The windows have architraves, though no mullions remain. A stone porch has a door with a plain stone surround and a blank semi-circular head above an open pediment supported by Tuscan pilasters. A plaque, set within a moulded cornice and a raised, fielded panel with a shouldered round head, is inscribed with "Ralph Horner Martha George Horner 1759." Shaped stone gutter brackets and gable copings are present. At the rear, a stair window has a plain stone surround and a semi-circular head with a keystone and impost blocks. Four two-light windows with plain stone surrounds and square mullions are also located at the rear.
