Description

Bank House is a house, probably built in the late 19th century, with remains from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of pebble-dashed rubble and has a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and the east facade features three bays with late 19th-century windows. To the right of the door, there is a two-storey stone bay window, and to the left, a double-sashed window without glazing bars in a plain stone surround, separated by a square mullion. The other two first-floor windows are sashed with plain stone surrounds. The door, which has a plain stone surround, is sheltered by a timber porch. At the far left of the facade, there is a blocked doorway with a shaped lintel typical of the 17th century. The house has end stacks.

On the rear wall, there are double-chamfered mullioned windows of 17th-century type on either side of the door: three lights to the left and two to the right. Above the door, which features a chamfered stone surround and a late 19th-century hood, is a sashed window with an architrave. The left side of the rear facade includes a window with an architrave on each floor. To the right, there is a stair window with an architrave and square mullion, along with an oculus above with a plain stone surround. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey but is reported to contain no features of significance.
