Description

Sawley Bridge is a bridge, probably built around 1800, that incorporates earlier remains. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features three segmental arches supported by triangular cutwaters and piers. The bridge has a string course and solid parapets with weathered copings. On the western side, there are outer chamfered arches around the voussoirs. The soffits of the arches have straight joints, indicating that the bridge has been widened.
