Description
Greenhead Farmhouse South is a house built in 1711, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from slobbered rubble and has a slate roof, featuring a double-pile plan and two storeys. The facade includes a two-storey gabled porch flanked by one bay on each side. The left bay has windows with plain stone surrounds and modern imitation sash windows with glazing bars, while the right bay has modern windows with glazing bars and concrete surrounds.
The first floor of the porch extends over a moulded string course and features a rebated and cyma-moulded mullioned window with three stepped lights and a hood, where the central light has a round head. The door is framed by moulded jambs and a shaped lintel, which is topped by a plaque inscribed 'HB 1711'. This plaque and the lintel are enclosed by a hood with spiral stops. The porch gable is adorned with kneelers and cyma-moulded coping, and there are gable chimneys. The rear wall has windows with plain stone surrounds. The interior was not accessible during the survey but is reported to contain little of interest.
