Description

The village cross and drinking fountain, dated 1900, is made of stone and features two steps leading up to an octagonal pedestal. This pedestal incorporates a spring with a shaped head recess and a semi-circular trough that projects from the base plinth step. The structure has an octagonal cross base with a moulded top, and the cross shaft tapers towards the top, culminating in a foliated cross. The pedestal bears the inscription: "This cross is erected by parishioners and friends A.D. 1900 to the glory of God and in memory of Sir Thomas Percival Heywood Baronet and of his work in the parish of Denstone."
