Description
All Saints Vicarage is a parsonage house built between 1860 and 1862 by G.E. Street. It features coursed and squared rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and a half-hipped clay tile roof. The structure consists of two parallel ranges with a wing to the south, forming a rough L shape, and a short wing projecting from the west end of the south front. The design is in the Vernacular revival style with late 13th century Gothic details.
The east front has two storeys, with the main range on the right and a gabled wing on the left. The fenestration is irregular, featuring plate glass sashes. The wing includes a single six-light ground floor window at the chamfered southeast corner, adorned with heavily moulded detail above. The first floor window in the centre has two shoulder-headed lights with a central chamfered mullion and a bracketed sill that continues as a string course around the wing, topped with plate tracery quatrefoil.
On the main range, there is a tripartite window to the left of centre with colonette mullions and shoulder head lights, and a two-light first floor window above with a central chamfered mullion and a small hipped gable above the eaves. A pointed door to the left features a hood mould.
The south front has one bay on the left and two bays on the right, with a projecting gable to the left. The plate glass sashes include two-light windows on the ground floor right and first floor left, the latter with a bracketed sill band, and a three-light window on the ground floor left, all featuring colonette mullions. The centre has a half-glazed door with an external pelmet.
This vicarage is part of a notable group of buildings that includes the Church, Church Hall, School, Coach house and stable, and Churchyard cross.
