Description

The premises of V.G. Wilson, a butcher's shop, is a 17th-century building that has been later remodeled. It features a timber frame with a red brick front and a plain tile roof, along with brick stacks at the ends and an off-ridge stack. The structure has one storey and an attic, characterized by a dentilled eaves course. It consists of two bays, with a canted bay window on the left side of the ground floor and a shop front on the right, which includes a glazed door and a large plate glass window topped with a bracketed plain tile roof. The gabled dormers contain casement windows. On the west gable, the timber framing is exposed, showcasing square panels and long straight tension braces, along with a collar and tie beam roof supported by a single pair of purlins.
