Description

This is a terrace of three cottages known as Inglenook, Oak Cottage, located on Bagot Street in Abbots Bromley. The cottages date from the 18th century and have undergone later alterations and additions. They are constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, featuring brick ridge stacks and integral end stacks.

The main two-storey section is on the right and includes a floor band and a dentilled eaves cornice. To the left is a lower two-storey extension made of painted brick. The terrace has six bays with casement windows that have segmental heads, while the two left-hand bays have straight-headed windows. Each cottage has a panelled door, with the doors for the centre and right-hand cottages featuring bracketed hoods. There is also a boarded alley door on the right, which has a straight brickwork joint above its left jamb. Additionally, there is a straight joint between the two left-hand bays and the four right-hand bays. Originally, this structure started as a pair of two-bay cottages, each with a central door, before being extended to the east and west.
