Description

Coleridge House, also known as the School of St Mary and St Anne, is a house that dates back to the early 17th century, with some remodeling in the 18th century and later additions and alterations. The building features a timber frame that has been extended and partly rebuilt in brick, topped with a plain tile roof that has coped verges on kneelers and panelled brick integral end stacks.

The structure consists of two parallel ranges aligned east-west, with a rear wing at the east end that is aligned north-south. It is two storeys high and has two bays, with casement windows; the ground floor includes a small central window flanked by windows in the outer bays. The ground floor is rough cast, while the upper storey showcases decorative framing with small square panels and parallel braces that create lozenge patterns.

On the west elevation, there are four bays featuring glazing bar sashes with gauged brick heads and raised key stones, and a low coped parapet in the centre that connects the verges of each range.
