Description
Swinley Court is a house that likely dates from the early 17th century, with extensions and alterations from the 18th century. It features a combination of timber framing, brick, and stone, topped with a tiled roof. The front wall is primarily brick, with some stone and render on the ground floor. The building is designed in an L-shape and consists of two storeys with four bays. The windows are casements with segmental heads, and there is a 20th-century window on the right side of the first floor. The doorway, located in the third bay, also has a segmental head. The house has gable chimneys, each with projecting stacks, and the right-hand gable is coped. The rear wing displays exposed timber framing arranged in square panels. The gable truss, partially obscured by a projecting stack, features raking struts, two collars, and V-struts.
