Description
The Thatch is a house dating from around 1600, constructed with cruck framing and timber-framed walls, topped with a thatched roof. It is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring irregular square panels in its framing. The roof slopes down on the left side over a single-storey lean-to. There are two 20th-century casement windows to the left of the door and one to the right, along with an eyebrow dormer on the left and a window under the eaves on the right. The house has chimneys located on the right-hand gable and between the lean-to and the main structure. The cruck framing is visible in the left-hand gable wall.
Inside, there are two exposed cruck trusses with tie-beams and collars, and the framing of the timber-framed chimney hood is visible in the left-hand bedroom.
