Description

SO 83 SW ELDERSFIELD CP CORSE LAWN 7/84 Barn to west of pond at Swinley Court

GV II" Barn. C17, with late C18 additions. Timber-framing and brick with corrugated iron roof. Left-hand (northern) end an addition in brick with a window to both floors and a wide doorway at the right. Further right is exposed framing'" in three rows of square panels with brickinfill, with a second wide doorway i to its right. The right-hand part of the front wall is boarded. Interior: not fully accessible at the time of survey (May 1986). Two trusses visible to right of ~ entrance are of hardwood with strapped king-posts. Truss to left of entrance has vertical struts between tie-beam and collar.
