Description
The barn at Upper Swinley Farm, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of rubble stone and features a slate roof. It has projecting opposed cart entries with low-pitched hipped roofs that are off-centre. To the left of the west cart entry, there is a lean-to. A 19th-century projecting wing is located to the right of the east entry; this two-storey wing has a stone slate roof that is hipped to the east, with two ground floor doors, one window, and a first floor loading door. Inside, there are tie-beam-and-collar trusses. Extending from the east end of the wing is an L-plan range of 19th-century stalls, which has a Bridgwater tile roof and brick and stone piers, making it an important part of the farm group. The interior has not been inspected.
