Description
School Cottage is a pair of cottages, now functioning as one house, dating from the 17th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with a central ridge stack that has two rebuilt diagonal shafts. It is 1½ storeys tall and has a two-gabled front. The windows are casement style with timber lintels that are chamfered and stopped. The left cottage includes a triple casement window above the door, flanked by a pair of casement windows on each side. The right cottage has a pair of casement windows above three pairs of casement windows, with one of these replacing a former door. At the rear, there is a lean-to extension. Inside, the cottage features back-to-back timber-lintel fireplaces and chamfered and stopped centre beams.
