Description
This barn, located approximately 8 metres north-east of Upper House Farmhouse, dates from the mid- to late 17th century and has undergone some alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame and a plain tile roof, with four framed bays oriented roughly north-east to south-west. The framing consists of square panels, and the barn is one storey high with a loft. On the north-west side, there are five boarded doors, which include both one- and two-leaf designs. The south-east side has four boarded loft doors, and there is an additional boarded loft door in the south-west gable end. Inside, the barn has collar and tie-beam trusses with queen struts and raking struts above the collar, along with pairs of purlins that are supported by wind braces. Upper House Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
