Description
Minsterley Bridge is a bridge built in 1909 by A. T. Davis, the County Surveyor. It is made of reinforced concrete and features a single segmental span with panelled spandrels and a chamfered string. Each parapet has a rounded coping and panelled rectangular piers topped with pyramidal caps. The outside of each parapet has central blank panels, and the parapets are angled back at each end. This bridge is an early example of reinforced concrete construction and is of the portal frame type, with the deck rigidly attached to the abutments. It carries the B 4387 Minsterley-Westbury road over a tributary of the Rea Brook. A plaque that is said to record its date and designer was not observed during the survey in September 1985.
