Description

The Post Office, located at No. 9 on Much Wenlock High Street, is a building from the mid-18th century and later. It is constructed of red brick and features two storeys plus an attic. The façade includes three sash windows set in broad frames, which have moulded stone keyblocks and flat brick arches. The sides of the building are accented with rusticated brick quoins, and there are moulded wood eaves. The roof is tiled and has three modern dormers. The ground floor showcases a modern bay that projects outward, featuring shop fronts. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 9 to 34 in sequence, the Gaskell Arms Hotel, and The Old Vicarage.
