Description
The Talbot Inn is an early 19th-century building with a stucco exterior that conceals an earlier 17th-century timber frame. It stands two storeys high and features four early three-light casement windows. The entrance at No. 12, located on the left side, has a simple early 19th-century doorcase flanked by sash windows, all beneath a moulded wood cornice. There is a square-headed carriageway in the center, revealing exposed timber framing in the soffit and sides. The building has plain eaves and is topped with old tiles. Inside, there is a notable Jacobean staircase. The Talbot Inn is part of a group that includes Nos 9 to 34, the Gaskell Arms Hotel, and The Old Vicarage.
