Description

Nos. 10 and 11, High Street, are a timber-framed building, likely of earlier date, with modern roughcast rendering. The building is two storeys high, with the upper storey projecting and featuring a boarded soffit. The lower storey has two square bays, each containing an early 19th-century window. Above, there are two modern four-light windows. No. 10 has a plain gable and a modern shop front. At the rear, a timber-framed wing and a substantial chimney stack are located. The stack probably dates to the early 17th century and has an ornamental course and diagonal shafts. Nos. 9 to 34 (consec), the Gaskell Arms Hotel, and The Old Vicarage are designated as a group.
