Description
This is a mid-17th century barn, located approximately 10 metres southwest of Fold Farmhouse. It is a timber-framed structure with weatherboarding and corrugated iron cladding, and a corrugated iron roof. Some panels on the left side reveal woven infill. The barn has several eaves hatches and doorways, including a wide entrance in the third bay from the left. Inside, the timber framing is visible with square panels from the cill to the wall-plate, and irregular square and rectangular panels supported by short straight braces from the wall posts to the tie beams. The roof is a double-purlin structure across six bays, incorporating both queen-strut trusses and raking struts from the tie beams to the principal rafters. The barn contains several reused timbers and encloses the west side of the farmyard.
