Description
No. 13 College Hill is a house that is now used for commercial purposes. It dates from the early 18th century and features a stucco exterior over a brick structure with a hipped plain tiled roof. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range. At the center, there are double doors with margin lights set in an Ionic case, which was added in the early 19th century, and these doors are accessed via steps. The flanking windows are 12-pane sashes with flat heads, and there are two gabled dormers in the roof. The house has angle quoins, a moulded brick plinth, and a wooden modillion eaves cornice. A massive stack is located on the side wall.
There is a side wing that faces Swan Hill, which is made of brick and painted on the basement level. This wing is three stories tall and has a four-window range, featuring two doorways and 18-pane sash windows with flat-arched gauged brick heads. The roof also has two dormers, one of which is wide and pedimented, and there is a deep moulded modillion eaves cornice along the top. A gable end stack is present as well.
