House. Late C16 or early C17, refronted in later C18. Timber-framed with brick facade, plain tiled roof. 3-storeyed, main elevation a 3-window range with central 6-panelled door in reeded architrave with moulded consoles to entablature, and panelled rebates. Flanking windows are 4-pane sashes with flat-arched gauged brick heads. Rear wing of slightly less height. Gable end stacks. This disposition represents the original plan of the building. INTERIOR: central staircase with turned balusters rising the full-height of the building, and deep projecting panelled chimneypiece in left-hand room. Most of the original framing, including the roof trusses survives, and is partly exposed on the rear elevation.
