Description

This is a pair of early 18th-century houses located on Swan Hill in Shrewsbury. The houses are built of brick with a plain tiled roof. They are two storeys high with attic dormers, presenting a four-window front. The main entrance to number 2 is on the street front, while the entrance to number 3 is on the return elevation to the right.

Number 2 has a recessed doorway with a moulded architrave, an ogee traceried overlight, and a high pediment. Both houses feature 12-pane sash windows within moulded cases, with painted brick arched heads above each window on both floors. The lower windows of number 3 are taller than those of number 2. A heavy, moulded wood eaves cornice projects from the walls. There are two gabled dormers in the roof, with a coped gable to the left and an axial stack.
