Description
The Coach and Horses Public House is a building that likely started as two separate homes. It has two distinct phases, with the older part on the left dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, and a later addition from the late 18th century on the right. The structure is timber-framed with render over brick and has plain tiled roofs.
The older section is two storeys high, featuring attic dormers and a two-window range. There is an off-centre entrance with two-light casement windows to the left and a six-pane sash window to the right. Above, there are paired casement windows. The former internal partition wall of timber is exposed in the gable, indicating that an adjacent building has been demolished at some point.
The later addition to the right is built on a curve and has a four-window range. It includes a doorway to the left and three four-pane sash windows on the ground floor, with similar windows above, one of which is blind. The building features dentilled eaves and gable end stacks.
