Description
This is a house located at No. 6 Quarry Place in Shrewsbury, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick with a stuccoed ground floor and features a low-pitched plain tiled roof. The building has three storeys and five bays, with a central six-panelled door that includes a traceried fanlight above it. The door is framed by panelled rebates beneath a cornice adorned with carved urns and an open pediment. On either side of the door are round-arched sash windows set in arched recesses. The upper windows consist of 12-pane sashes, with six panes in the attic, and feature flat-arched gauged brick heads. The central windows are highlighted by shouldered stone architraves. A heavy stuccoed cornice runs along the top of the building. The house has a twin-pile plan and is equipped with two gable end stacks on each side. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings with spearhead finials surrounding the basement area.
