Description

Old Bramblecote is a cottage dated 1643, featuring a late 20th-century addition at the rear. It is constructed with a timber frame and painted brick nogging, topped with a shingled roof. The framing consists of small square panels, with three panels extending from the sole plate to the wall plate, and long straight tension braces. The cottage has two framed bays and is one storey high with an attic.

On the left side, there is a timber-framed eaves dormer that includes a 20th-century two-light wooden casement and a jettied gable with a moulded and dated bressumer, along with a quatrefoil in a square panel. To the right, there is a later gabled eaves dormer featuring a two-light casement. An integral brick end stack is located on the right side of the building.

The front of the cottage has three windows, which are one-, two-, and three-light 20th-century wooden casements. There is also a 20th-century gabled brick porch on the right, complete with a boarded door. The right-hand return front displays a slightly jettied gable that consists of a collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts and V-struts. The left-hand gable end features a collar and tie-beam truss with queen struts as well. At the rear, there is a rendered 20th-century gabled wing. The interior has not been inspected.
