SUTTON UPON TERN C.P. SYDNALL LANE (north SJ 63 SE side) 3/134 Sydnall Farmhouse and - attached outbuildings

Shown on O.S. map as The Sydnall. Farmhouse and attached outbuildings. Late C18. Red brick with plain tile roof. Central 2-bay 2-storey block with flanking one-bay one-storey pavilions. 1:2:1 bays. Central block with plinth, plat band between ground and first floors, dentil brick eaves cornice and parapeted gable ends with moulded stone kneelers and stone copings. Integral brick end stacks. Ground-floor and first- floor segmental-headed wooden casements; second-floor 2-light wooden casements. Flanking pavilions with stone-coped parapeted pedimented gable ends to front and large round-arched recessed panels with stone impost bands and keystones. Left-hand pavilion with first-floor 3-light, window and external brick end stack, and right-hand pavilion with late C19 lean-to addition to front. The left- hand pavilion is attached to the central block by a low linking range with brick ridge stack and later lean-to conservatory to front, and the right-hand pavilion is attached by a wall. Rear of central block: 3 bays; segmental- headed 2-light wooden casements. Central boarded door with segmental-headed 2-part overlight. Interior not inspected. The left-hand pavilion appears to be an outbuilding.
