Description

There are two cast-iron memorial plates dedicated to John and Mary Ward, located approximately 1 metre south of the chancel of the Church of St Mary. The memorial plates date from around 1750 and 1777 and are rectangular in shape. The northern plate features a swagged urn decoration at the top and commemorates Mary Ward, who died in 1750, along with her son Benjamin, who died in 1784, and her daughter Hannah, who died in 1800. The southern plate has a plain inscription and commemorates her husband John, who died in 1777, and their son Thomas, who died in 1816.
