Description

The Ward tomb, located approximately 10 metres south of the chancel of the Church of the Holy Cross in Moreton Morrell, is a chest tomb dedicated to Thomas and Ann Ward, with Ann having died in 1795 and other family members in the 1820s. The tomb is constructed of ashlar and features a moulded plinth. It has recessed angle balusters with reeded bases, and the side and end panels are fielded with concave corners. The top slab is finished with a moulded edge, although the inscriptions are partly worn.
