Description
The entrance gates and railings to the Moreton Morrell Tennis Court were constructed around 1906, possibly designed by W.H. Romaine-Walker. Made of wrought iron, the paired gates feature enriched panels and flat open-work gate piers adorned with heart motifs and scrolly finials, although one finial is missing. Short lengths of railings, approximately 8 meters long, extend from each gate pier, each with plain ends and decorative treatments at the bottom, along with urns. The end piers are topped with naturalistic finials. The design of the gates and railings shares similar details with those of Moreton Hall.
