Description
This is a table tomb located approximately 5 metres south of the Church of All Saints, dated 1669 and 1671. It is dedicated to William Ward and his daughter. The tomb consists of paired large gritstone slabs with a roll-moulded edge, supported on a low plinth. The left slab bears the inscription: "HIC IACET COR / PUS ELIZABE / THAE FILIAE GUI / LELMI WARD: / ET UXORIS THO / MAE BLAKEY:: / QUAE MORTUA / EST ii DIE SEP. / AN: DO: 1671". The right-hand slab reads: "HIC IACET CORPUS / GUILELMI WARD: / DE ASKWITH QUI / MORTUIS EST 5 DIE / DECEMBRIS ANNO / DOMINI : 1669".
