Description

Hall Farmhouse and attached outbuildings date from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and has a graduated stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays, with the right bay incorporated from the farm buildings. The structure features quoins and a central 20th-century glazed door set in a sawn-stone surround. To the left of the door is a 16-pane sash window, and to the right are similar paired sashes. The jamb stones of the 17th-century windows are visible on the sides. There is a quoined doorcase with a 20th-century glazed door located beyond the quoins to the far right. On the first floor, there are three paired 6-pane casements in plain surrounds, with the rightmost one being significantly larger. The centre and right sections have two blocked small rectangular windows typical of the mid to late 17th century. The left side features a shaped kneeler and gable coping, along with end banded stacks. At the rear, there is a central stair window with two transoms, and to the right, a 2-light recessed chamfered mullion window. The interior may contain ceiling beams from the 17th century in the principal rooms. The attached farm buildings to the right are not of special interest.
