Description
Burley Hall is a large, mainly 18th-century house situated in Burley in Wharfedale. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a hipped slate roof. Deeply projecting eaves are supported by elongated S-brackets, and chimneys have diagonally set stacks. The house is L-shaped, with its longest facade facing east, but it is not symmetrical, displaying two breaks. It has eight windows, all sash windows with glazing bars and drip moulds, except for one which is a sash window with an architrave and another which features a three-light window above a modern bow window. A stone Gothic Revival porch with a pointed archway and carved frieze is located on the north side.
The property is part of a group which contains nearby orchard walls to the south of Burley Hall, the entrance piers and gates from Corn Mill Lane, the garden wall to the south, a viaduct and bridge south of the mill pond, Corn Mill Cottage, Corn Mill Cottage Barn to the south, and the Corn Mill itself.
