Description
The building is a corn mill, probably largely of the 18th century, situated at the end of Corn Mill Lane on the bank of the River Wharfe. It is a detached building of mainly three storeys. The north side has a slab roof and four windows, with the middle pair on the top storey being blind. An extension to the east, of two storeys and somewhat narrower, features shouldered coping. This extension has one window and three buttresses. A diagonal extension to the south is likely a later addition. Adjacent to a mill-race on the north side, at the west end, is a wheel extension featuring a door.
The mill forms a group with Burley Hall, the former orchard walls south of Burley Hall, the piers and gates of the entrance to Burley Hall from Corn Mill Lane, the garden wall to the south of Burley Hall, a viaduct and bridge south of the mill pond, Corn Mill Cottage, the Corn Mill Cottage Barn to the south, and the corn mill itself.
