Description
This is a chest tomb located 26 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Lawrence in Church Stretton, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of sandstone ashlar and features a coped lid with moulded edges. The side and end panels are plain and inscribed. The tomb has corner piers with enriched chamfered edges and a punched carved cusped lancet motif, similar to the Jones Memorial located 2 metres east of the south transept. It stands on a plain chamfered plinth. The tomb commemorates John Robinson, who died in 1826, his wife Elizabeth, who died in 1857, and Richard Robinson, who died in 1859.
