Barn Approximately 15 Metres South-East Of Rockley Farmhouse

This is a barn located approximately 15 meters southeast of Rockley Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with later additions and alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on an uncoursed limestone rubble plinth, topped with a graded slate roof. The barn has two levels, with scattered eaves hatches and stable doors on each side. There is a gabled projection made of rubblestone and weatherboarding, likely a former horse engine house, positioned roughly at the center of the main section on the west side. Inside, the framing consists of square panels and long straight tension braces, with weatherboarded partitions. The roof is a double-purlin structure spanning 8 or 9 bays, incorporating a mix of Queen-strut trusses and raking struts from tie beams that support the principal rafters. The northern two bays have a slightly lower roof pitch and are a later addition.
