Description

This is a water pump located adjacent to the corner with Ashton Road in Shrewsbury, dating from around 1880. It is made of cast iron and features a fluted shaft and cap. Notably, it has a lion's head design and raised lettering that reads "Waste Not Want Not." This pump is part of a series established in the town to support the water supply brought from the conduit head at Nobold Lane.
