Water pump. Mid C19. Cast-iron. Short fluted shaft with raised lettering, "Waste Not Want Not", and lion's head motif. Domed cap. The pump is one of a series which were established in the town in connection with bringing in the water supply from the conduit head at Nobold Lane (qv).
