Description

Ridgemount is a house that has been converted into a school house. It was originally built in the early 19th century and extended around 1926 for its new purpose. The building is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range with a central entrance. The entrance is highlighted by a Doric porch, which is flanked by full-height canted bays that contain 12-pane sash windows with flat-arched gauged brick heads. There is an additional 12-pane sash window to the right of the entrance. The building has a parapet with unmoulded copings. The rear wing, which houses the school accommodations, was added in a Neo-Georgian style.
